Henok founded U Street Parking Inc., in 1998. Henok developed his parking management acumen while working in the parking industry for over six years where he started of as a parking attendant and worked his way up through management. During his time with in the industry Henok was introduced to parking management from a large company’s prospective. Although the large company was a great experience for Henok he often felt if give the right opportunity he would welcome the chance to start a small but well managed firm in which the direct focus is on the customer. Henok is a true believer in the notion that size should not sacrifice service. In his own words, “Here at U Street Parking, we truly believe Parking starts with U! We are in business to serve and our success depends on the options and flexibility we offer our VIP’s”. Henok earned a bachelors of science in business.
Yared Tesfaye co-founded U Street Parking in 1998, he serves as the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. He oversees U Street Parking’s financial and administrative support functions; in addition, he is responsible for the company’s treasury function, including cash management, banking relations, insurance and taxation.
Yared Tesfaye is a specialist in contract negotiation. He has managed to consolidate, and pass on savings from vendors to U Street Parking and its Clients. His keen attention to details makes him perfect in reviewing monthly financial statements, preparing P&L and overseeing the audit department.
Yared holds a Bachelors degree in Information Technology from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is also a member of the National Parking Association.
Ben Tesfaye joined U Street Parking as a partner during its early stage. In this capacity, he serves as Director of Operations, growing the company to more than 200 employees and increasing profitability. Ben is responsible for all of U Street Parking’s day-to-day operations, overseeing all organizational functions with various RFP prospects and contract preparation and compliance. In addition He has extensive experience in proposal preparation and contract negotiation in addition to managing complex facilities at Airports, Hotels and Hospitals within the Washington D.C metropolitan area.
Prior to taking the role of Director of Operations, he served in many different positions within U Street, such as Valet Attendant, Cashier, Site Manager, Night Operations Manager, Area Manager, and Auditor. All of which has given him the exposure to almost every aspect of parking management. In addition Ben has practiced Real Estate since 2006, in sales, development, property Management and Construction.
Ben holds a Bachelors degree in Chemistry from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is also a member of the National Parking Association. His current projects include creating VALPARK, a mobile parking payment Application.
Leonard started in the parking industry as a Valet Account Manager in 2000. His enthusiasm for creating the best experience for customers and an enjoyable work environment for his staff has brought him up through the ranks of the parking industry rapidly. He was appointed to position of North American Sales Manager of a large DC based parking company in 2004 and created a successful marketing plan that led to a successful national expansion. Leonard joined U Street Parking in 2010 after identifying them as a company on the verge of growing exponentially in the local DC market and having potential for international growth.
Leonard excels at creating and implementing national and international marketing plans aimed at local, Federal and private entities. He is consistently developing strong, sustainable relationships with nationwide partners, government agencies and executive decision makers of Fortune 500 client companies. Leonard one of a select number of parking professionals awarded the LEED AP ID +C designation and works to bring sustainable solutions to the parking industry. He graduated from the George Washington University and enjoys sailing on the Chesapeake Bay.
Daniel is the Finance Manager at U Street Parking. He is a dynamic, highly productive management professional with extensive experience in the areas of financial management, project management, and human resources, gained in a highly competitive environment. His skills in analyzing business needs and creating effective solutions that result in maximized efficiency, increased revenue and sales growth are complimented by his strategic-thinking, ability to clearly analyze statistical trends and develop viable road maps to achieve objectives.
Danielle is responsible for accounting and book keeping, information management, benefits management and strategic planning. Daniel founded the Horizon Environmental Group in 1989 and was the proud recipient of two SBA Administrator’s Excellence Awards (2004 and 2004), Minority Small Business of the Year, Region V (1999), SBA Administrator’s Excellence Award (2001), Fluor Daniel Global Services Award (2000) and the U.S. Small Business Administration Award, Columbus District (1999).His more than fifteen years of finance experience started after studying engineering and mathematics degree from the University of Maryland, College Park.
